Former Power Dynamos striker Luka Lungu on Wednesday night scored a brace in TP Mazembe’s 3-1 over Saint Luc in the domestic league.
Mazembe coach Lamine Ndiaye rested all the first team players that beat Power 6-0 on Sunday but his side went on to win the league match.
Chipolopolo regular Rainford Kalaba who accounted for the opener in Power’s rout, two goal hero Given Singuluma and defender Stophilla Sunzu all stayed out of Wednesday’s tie.
But Lungu, who abandoned Power at the end of last season following an inspiring season in the FAZ league, still kept the Zambian flag high.
He was on target in the fourth and 40th minute to give the Mighty Mazembe three points in an away fixture.
The win takes Mazembe joint top of the table with DC Motema Pembe on 12 points from four matches in a 14-team Super League of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
