President Sata nicknamed ‘Ukwa’ among critics has led off 20 kitchen staff at statehouse and given them April 30th as deadline to vacate the house.
One of the affected, who has been at state house compound for over 25 years said on the fateful day there was a directive to cook food for Robiana who was admitted at UTH after a 20 kg tumor was operated on him. There was a directive from from state house be taken to UTH for Robiana.
The failure to do so has left more man 20 staff affected. They have accused Sata of making their work difficult, saying he goes in the kitchen to check, monitor and supervise them.
The staff have accused Sata of interfering in their work adding that unlike the past leaders, Sata works in to the kitchen with his hands on his back inspecting what is being prepared. “ Sata controls even the stock been bought.”
Some of the staff have opted to retire and get their pension especially those that have worked for more than 30 years.
It is alleged that these jobs are been created for pf cadres.

It is an offence in any organisation to disobey orders. So many of you cooks can not fail to cook for a single patient as directed unless the Doctors told you that he could not eat at that particular time. Tell us something else not this reason maybe you stole the food meant for Robiana.

If you can fail or refuse to cook for Robiana, a guest of the president’s, the question is: how many other people have you mistreated by not cooking for them or even giving drinking water? You look down on people like Robiana.

Worker also.
Even if you work in the kitchen at state house at the moment the owner of the kitchen is ukwa. so you should accept orders from him .
I have seen this even when a driver outlives his job , he thinks that he is doing the boss a favour.

Were these instructions to extend a helping hand to a patient at UTH difficult to carry out?? No, the only reason is that State House Staff didi not regard that as falling withint their work requirements and were still living in the past.
Look for new jobs, you must have known President Sata does not have time for that!!!

Thats a good move Mr. Sata. Indeed why would someone refuse to cook for Robiana. So you cooks look down on some of your guests. Anyway, I think you are tired, go home and cook for your families.

The people fired should report the matter to the labor office, so that we see what they will do about. imagine if it was an Indian, white or an ordinary Zambian! their is too much interference in the kitchen by ukwa. Can we have a job description for ukwa!

i like the attitude. state house operates on public money, people must be responsible in small as well as big things. robiana elected mr sata and he must be treated as a zambian just like all of us. why didnt they cook? many civil servants are not cooking for the people they are meant to serve. to this i am saying bravo mr president and please once in a while inpect your country like you said in your 2006 election campaign promise. ‘ine inga naba kateka, insha kabe kateka but inkaba kapitau(captain) ukupitamo nokumona ati ifintu file enda bwino. to work everybody the president doesnt rest. what about you?

It is indiscipline of the worst order to refuse to cook for the presidents’ guest. Robiana has been at UTH with the presidents’ knowledge and the successful operation must have cheered HEMCS. So, he intended for state house to cook food for Robiana and his family members! This is a vision difficult for selfish individuals like Pulamasaka! These same cooks were very obedient to braii Inshas (Impala) for Rupiah and friends on fridays as they drunk whisky and allowed them to steal.
Anyway, the old adage of ‘familiarity breeds comptempt’ is really realised in these cooks of 25 – 30 years at state house. It is enough, hamba wena! Go and allow other newly graduated chefs to have those jobs, atase!
