MALAWI Requests Finance Bank To Urgently Return To Malawi

By Correspondent.
The President of the Republic of Malawi, Mrs Joyce Banda, made a solemn plea to Finance Bank to urgently return and establish a fully-fledged bank in Malawi. She was impressed with Finance Bank Zambia and all its achievements.  She admitted that she was fully aware of (and privy to) the circumstances that led to Finance Bank deciding to withdraw voluntarily in 2005 (after operating for ten years) since the then Malawi  Government made unfair and untrue allegations, all of which were politically motivated. President Joyce Banda was cognisant of the litigation before the Supreme Court by Finance Bank for recompense.
When presented with a dossier under cover of a letter dated 26th March, 2012 written by the Reserve Bank of Malawi to Mr.SakwibaSikota S.C., confirming his meeting with the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Malawi in Blantyre on 9th March, 2012, President Joyce Banda expressed shock since the dossier was incomplete, unprofessional and unethically given to a private lawyer to advance his own clients’ cases. President Joyce Banda apologised on behalf of Malawi and promised to investigate the matter.
Present at the recent meeting with President Joyce Banda were Dr.Mahtani, Mr. Steven Malama S.C., and Mr. John Sangwa in addition to other professionals.
Dr.Mahtani handed-over a dossier of the case 2010/HP/260 between Hotelier Limited, and Ody’s Works Limited, lodged by Central Chambers on 17th April, 2012 which incorporated the Reserve Bank of Malawi documents and copies of Dr.Mahtani’s passport. He explained that it is alleged that a Mr.CipherePhiri of the DEC gave the passport (during investigations) to Mr.SakwibaSikota S.C., Mr. Steven Powell, and Mr. Daniel Ventriglia who summarised the travel movements. Dr.Mahtani explained the apparent ‘mischief’ and provided evidence to support his contentions.
On enquiries made to Mr.SakwibaSikota S.C., his response was that he has nothing against Dr.Mahtani but was following his clients’ instructions. Who are his clients? Mr. Rupiah Banda, Mr Henry Banda,Mr.OdyMandenakis, Mr. Mohamed Salama, Mr. Antonio Ventriglia, Mrs Manuela SebastianiVentriglia, Mr. Claudio Ventriglia, Mr. Daniele Ventriglia, Mr. Valerio Ventriglia, or the MMD?
On enquires made to Dr.Mahtani he responded that he had no comment and referred us to Psalms 9 of the Bible which reads: “I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart; I will tell of all Thy wonderful deeds; I will be glad and exult in Thee; I will sing praiseto Thy name, O most High. When my enemies turned back, they stumbled and perished before Thee, for Thouhas maintained my just cause; Thou has sat on the throne giving righteous judgement

MAHTANI, you vision is still sound and God is on you side! But remember its the same God that your under paid and over worked workers pray to!

Please improve on the conditions of service, a loan of 20million,eg, paid back in five years is an insult for the workers!
