Police Arrest Traditional Healer Claiming To Resurrect The Dead
A 46 year old traditional healer who claimed to have powers of raising people from the dead as been arrested by Police.
Harard Chibanda who was arrested in Chisamba is also facing charges of obtaining money by false pretences.
Chibanda obtained money amounting to 4.5 million kwacha from a family of Chisamba who wanted to establish the cause of death of their young brother.
Central Province Police Commissioner Dr Solomon Jere says a boy only identified as Peter drowned in February early this year and the family sort intervention from the traditional healer who claimed to have powers to raise the dead.
He says efforts to raise the young boy from the dead by the witch doctor failed.
DR Jere has explained that the man is facing two counts of obtaining money by false pretence and practicing acts of deception and is in police custody.
