Solwezi Man Beaten To Death For Allegedly Practising Witchcraft

A MAN of Solwezi in his 70s was beaten to death by unknown people and later buried in a shallow grave, a few metres from his house.

North-Western Province deputy police chief, Bonny Kapeso identified the man as Modestor Kyebo who was attacked between 03:00 and 04:00 hours on Friday on allegations that he was practising witchcraft.

Mr Kyebo of Chief Musele’s area was accused of being behind the death of a woman identified as Senero Mboma of the same village.

Mr Kapeso said police will exhume the body as soon as pathologists were available.

Meanwhile, police at the weekend picked up a body

of a 17-year-old boy of Wisdom Township in Solwezi suspected to have been murdered by unknown people.

Geoffrey Katwamba whose body was found in Kimasala area, was believed to have been murdered on Saturday.

Mr Kapeso appealed to people with information leading to the arrest of the suspects to report the matter to the police.

Katwamba’s body is in Solwezi General Hospital mortuary.
