GBM Threatens To Resign If His Businesses Are Tempered With ‘Politics are temporary and I am not ready to give up my business.’

MINISTER of Defence Geoffrey Mwamba has threatened to resign if his businesses are tampered with.
And Mr Mwamba says he is aware of individuals who want to bring confusion to the Patriotic Front (PF).

Defence minister Geofrey Mwamba aka GBM

Mr Mwamba, who is also Kasama member of Parliament, said he is not a corrupt man and that he has been able to build his businesses from hardwork.
He said this in Kasama yesterday during a programme on Radio Mano.
“I smell a rat. Politics are temporary and I am not ready to give up my business. I am where I am today because of my businesses,” Mr Mwamba said.
He said well-known politicians such as former president Levy Mwanawasa and former vice-president George Kunda did not give up their law firms when they joined politics.
“Politicians such as Dr Mwanawasa and Mr Kunda did not abandon their law firms when they joined politics. We have many people in politics that have businesses, so why should I be made to abandon mine?” he said.
He expressed sadness that some people may force President Sata to make wrong decisions but that he has confidence in him [President Sata] to sort out the issues affecting the party internally.
Mr Mwamba said the President is only serving his first term and that he has a constitutional right to go for another term.
Mr Mwamba said he has always been supportive of President Sata and that he will continue to do so if he resigns his position.
He said the PF is a united party and that there are a few individuals who want to bring confusion but that this will not stop him from standing by President Sata.
Sections of the media have recently linked Mr Mwamba to doing business while in Government.

PANJI KNEW A LOT OF DEALS GBM WAS PERCIEVED TO BE INVOLVED IN. GBM ALSO KNOWS THE DEALS KABIMBA IS INVOLVED IN. NO WONDER POWER FAILURE AT INT AIRPORT (KKIA) THEY WERE MOVING IN AND OUT THINGS, THEIR DEALS CONCEALED BY SWITCHING OFF POWER.

This illiterate and immature called GBM, what does he think he is? He can resign he will be replaced by more mature and qualified Zambians.

To start with, GBM is a businessman. He survived business extinction in opposition under a hostile MMD and it’s naivity to expect him to extinct now. Him being in government doesn’t mean he should seize to be a businessman, no. Besides, things should work to his advantage as long as he doesn’t use corrupt ways. Smooth flow of business should be one of his preverages.

Iam not impressed with this state of affairs! The best GBM can do is to concentrate on his business and leave politics to people who are trully willing to serve the people of Zambia. By virtue of his position as senior government official he will definately be tempted to seek government contracts and he will be awarded government contracts by virtue of his position which will bring us back to square one: The abuse of office! This is the reason why we chased MMD and PF should realise that such kind of behavior is not a good recipe for governing well!
