GMB Assaults His Manager
GEOFFREY Mwamba has allegedly assaulted his operations manager at Arizona Marketing, Collins Mundai.
And police in Matero have opened a docket against Mwamba for assaulting Mundai on May 14 in Lusaka.
Lusaka Province police commissioner Lemmy Kajoba confirmed receiving a report of Mwamba allegedly beating a worker.
“We summoned the accused person, Mr Mwamba. He was supposed to appear before officers at the police station for further investigations at 14:30 hours. However, he sent an excuse that he was in a situation that was beyond his control and could not appear… so it has been agreed he will appear on Friday in the morning,” said Kajoba.
Narrating the incident that led to him being assaulted, Mundai said Mwamba uses vulgar language when addressing his employees.
“On that material day, he came for work around 09:00 hours. He asked me to calculate the cost of fuel for the trucks that had run out of diesel in Chisamba. I recalculated and handed him all the figures for him to start signing what we call the fuel coupons so that the trucks can start getting the fuel from the filling stations. But as usual, he came into our office and started insulting, calling us idiots and maggots. He threatened that he was going to fire all of us,” Mundai narrated.
“At that point,” he continued, “I went away from him to make a call to tell my relatives that I was resigning. But just as I put down the phone receiver, he came and stood behind me. You know that guy is big so he blocked the door and I couldn’t pass. He asked me what I was doing and I told him that ‘I was making a phone call’. When I said that, he punched me in the chest and in the stomach, then he started slapping me.”
Mundai said Mwamba, popularly known as GBM, blamed him for the trucks that had run out of fuel.
“He beat me in full view of other employees. There were even some ladies nearby who witnessed that because it’s an open office and the glasses are translucent, so even the drivers were watching. I did nothing to him and I want him to tell me why he beat me. If I did anything wrong, he had the right to dismiss me and charge me but he has no right to beat me,” he said.
Mundai, who has worked for Arizona Marketing since January 2013, claimed that three weeks ago, Mwamba slapped another employee at the same company.
“When I got home, I started feeling serious body pains and when I coughed, I noticed traces of blood. I went to the hospital and the doctor found that I sustained chest and abdominal pains as well as a swollen cheek,” said Mundai.
Efforts to get a comment from GBM proved futile as his mobile phone went unanswered and later switched to voice-mail.

Mr Mwamba is a fool how can he beat his employee over a simple issue, if the employee did long Mwamba shud have used displinery cord for that company.He can even kill someone & no one is above the law evn if u re rich.

This Mwamba is a very uncivilised man! He really has a kaponya mentality! One of these fine days teach him a lesson because even if u go to the cops nothing happens, they just start smiling at the site of him with a lot of ‘SIR SIR’.

Okay GBM ws okay, da same manager z bringing him down hw can a big company like dat be running out of fuel. It’s one of da things da same f**ckn manager would ve make sure dat da trucks ve enough fuel to reach da destination!!!
