The Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection (JCTR) Basic Needs and Nutritional Basket (BNNB) is expected to increase following the recent upward adjustments in prices of electricity tariffs and fuel pump prices.

The BNNB for Lusaka as at December stood at K6,620.73.

JCTR said between January and June 2019, the cost of living remained stable with minimal variations but the second half of the year experienced price shocks because of prolonged load-shedding, depreciation of the Kwacha, increased fuel pump price and reduced productivity in the agriculture sector.
