Sata Win Improves Times, DailyMail Sales As ZNBC ‘Repents’

The election of Patriotic Front (PF) Strongman and Leader, Micheal Chilufya Sata to Zambia’s top office of republican president has drastically improved sales for the government owned print media, The Times Of Zambia and Daily-Mail. A Tumfweko survey has revealed.
However, in another Tumfweko survey conducted on 9/23 has revealed that Sata’s Inauguration as President was watched and listened on radio by over 8 million people country wide.
Meanwhile, Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) TV main news has been characterized with ‘rosy and delicious’ stories about President Sata which at one time was used by opposition MMD government to spit venom at his excellency.
A cross section of society have however expressed joy at how ZNBC Tv is/has carried out its operations from the time Sata won the elections.
Meanwhile, US President Barack Obama on September 23 congratulated Zambia on the historic elections and looks forward to working with new President Michael Sata.
The AFP says the US leader commended Zambia for “building on your commitment to multi-party democracy”.
“Zambia’s Electoral Commission, political leaders, civil society, and above all its citizens all contributed to this important accomplishment,” Obama said in a statement released by the White House.
He also hailed former president Banda’s “contributions to Zambia’s democratic development,” and his “admirable acceptance of the will of the Zambian people”.
“The hard work of a living democracy does not end when the votes are tallied and the winners announced,” Obama said.
“Instead it offers the chance to reconcile and to advance greater security and prosperity for its people.
“I hope that all Zambians will find common ground as you address the challenges and seize the opportunities facing your country and our world.”

My wish is for them to have a fair and unbiased coverage of news. Let them report issues from the opposition that are positive or negative. Not what we have been experiencing in the past

It was good to see the former presidents Kaunda and Banda on the podium during the inauguration ceremony. On one hand it showed our democracy is maturing but also that Banda is mature and down to hearth. He might have been blinded by power but it appears he has come to full realization of people power and its invincibility. As for Times, Daily and ZNBC bosses, it is about time they packed and left. They sank just too low by peddling lies and slander against innocent political opponents of the then ruling party (now opposition MMD). That will serve as lesson to all who peddle lies to the benefit of those in power. As for Lifwekelo, Siulapwa, Cifire, Chimba and others like Nkandu Elvis (ZANAMA), this is their time for public apologies. Clemency shall be exercised cautiously…

My condolences to the ‘former’ chief of justice Ernest sakala who in months gone by refused to shake Mr Sata’s hand and said he would never inaugurate him. You must have felt like amafi when you declared him winner and worse still when you were doing the inauguration. This to me is proof that Mr Sata is a man of honour and dignity. I would have fired you right there.

My dear Dora Siliya(masiliti) you need to shame yourself and repent to the almight God. Were is your government you were boosting of. Shame on you. Dora you did more damage to yourself reason been that you were too selfish and you thought your government was going to make it. Zambian people wanted change through the ballot box and they have shown that to you. Corruption in which you believed in was misleading you ba dora i would advise you to approach master chimbala to include you on R4m……………hope you will reform. Its time for reformation no. I donot think ZNBC we welcome such useless pipo like. but R4M is waiting you.

congrates His Excellence Micheal Chilufya Sata- our earnest appeal to you is to look into the following issues. Water and sanitation, Education, Roads, dilapidiated health institutions, communications, labour laws must be adhered to- we need strong labour laws, the Ministry of labour must be worked on and we believe you a President of action and that will happen viva zambia

I strongly feel the government of the day has a big role in making sure all media houses are given the freedom to carry out the work proffesionaly. Znbc, Times & Daily mail could have been biased not only because of their management but also because of goverment’s intimidation to favour them of the reporting, so the best thing our new government can do is also give a platform for opposition parties and other stake holders to speak out on whats is not good more especialy on the national tv station…. Just like the way the inoguration was, the three Presidents were present, KK,RB the new presido, the other two were alive they could have attended, may their souls rest in peace… Lets work together to build our Zambia, One Zambia one Nation.. God bless us all.

The mmd goverment media coverage was the waste and thorn pricking, I hope guys this is a big lesson, see how things turn arround, I know you were shivering as each time MCS votes were increasing even now you all look sober, do not pretend. The best you can do now is to apologise, I will be sad again if you start the same, please our President, look into the issue of media seriously as you had promised.

of course we will work together, but the bad eggs must be broken, otherwise they will hatch and begin to do their corruption again. this includes Dora l think she is a bad role model to the girl child in zambia, and therefore she should not be allowed to be a public leader

Well for a change i did not have to watch ZNBC showing all the development (roads being painted, schools etc) from around the country. While there was too much of Sata last night it was understandable as he had just been inuagurated, we hope to see less of him and let him do those roads and schools quitely, thats what tax payers money is for. Zambian works work for the government 4 months in a year. That’s alot of money and no government should boast for using that money wisely. ZNBC hope you are ashamed of yourselves and will not make the same mistake.
