DR MUTESA Says ‘Include The EFZ In The Constitution COMMITTEE Also’

AN OPPOSITION political party has requested president Michael Sata to include the Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia on the technical committee appointed to draft the new constitution.
The Zambia for empowerment and development (ZED) which made the request says the Evangelical fellowship represents a large constituency of voters.
ZED president Fredrick Mutesa has also said the twenty member committee of experts in its current form is not balanced.
He was speaking in an interview with ZNBC news in Lusaka on Thursday 11/17.
Dr Mutesa has observed that the last constitution making process under the MMD failed because of controversy surrounding the composition of the commissioners.
President Sata on Wednesday 11/16 appointed the technical committee to draft the new republican constitution within a 12 months timeframe.

It was in the name of balancing that NCC was blotted and gobbled millions of kwacha…views of various sections of the society have been captured in the previous CRCs. If i were Sata, i would have made a 10 man committee consisting of purely technocrates regardless of tribe, gender e.c.t…enough of wastage on allowances!!!!!

H.E MCS will attend to your request soon Mr. Mutesa, he is a man that listens, a balanced Constitutional Committee is what the people of Zambia require other than the previous regime which had selective members to such committees. A small committee Mr. President is what we are calling for with acceptable wages attached as opposed to the previous committee which paid amounts that could allow someone buy a house within one week. Most of those members were even absconding secessions but later paid in full. Movement for Massive Destruction you were indeed…

In my opinion I think its not about who and who being in the committee but sound and credible objectives that will stand the test of time, in what will come out of the whole process. I think as Zambia we have spent far too much on this one and the same thing for some time now. a lot of work has already been done, its just a matter of seriousness and dedication required from the people entrusted with this very noble task. further more political will is also of very cardinal if we are to get the results we are anticipating. So please lets support the committee that has been constituted and offer checks and balances from the other side instead of worsting more resources.

This balancing theory fya bwaice! Are we sure all the 20 guys on the committee are Catholics?Am ponono pente with 20 years experience and hard labour but I cant support some of them Bad Pente Bishops to be on the committee again. Why were they always on TV during RB’s days working against innocent Zambians?Actually H.E MCS should have even put 10 catholic bishops. All we need is a Good constitution whether done by Jerabos or who.So abash balancing.Mind you some things HE MCS will be dictating. He doesnt need to listen to every cry.Imagine wali kwata aka mwana, and you are in Shoprite then it cries for all things in all the shelves and you listen to it? Confusion! leadership is that tricky.Serving is not about just being representatives on the Constitution committee!Let them continue holding Power Conferences. We need consistency in these our Bishops.Actually in Heaven I will ask God to give me a chance, nka lopoleko a few of them for hypocrisy.A good beating Hey!

HE’S RIGHT. THERE’S A TENDENCY IN ZAMBIA TO THINK THAT ONLY LAWYERS CAN CONTRIBUTE MEANINGFULLY TO THIS CRUCIAL SET OF THE SUPREME LAWS OF OUR COUNTRY, AND THAT IS NOT CORRECT.

Good afternoon my friends. My facebook and twitter accounts will go on strongly. That you should be assured of albeit I have been busy lately. A lot has happened since we last spoke and in the meantime we in the MMD are very much in this political dispensation and as a party that is truly national, we will go back to the drawing board and redefine and refine ourselves to ensure we learn our lessons and come back with relevancy to the people. Thanks for your support.

Main views of what we want in the constitution are already in the previous drafts. As a country we have so many areas of need where our limited/donor resources could be used. Let’s not forget that, since time immemorial, there has been nothing like including everyone in decision making. As long as those chosen for the task are not selfish or narrow minded and are from different ethnic groups/cultures, we shall save time from trivial debates and resources from allowances. Last time the group included ‘passangers’who either knew nothing or felt inferior to debate with other members .Well done your execellence for saving our resources. Ikaleni fye bakandile chalo chisunge ilupiya.

I don’t think anyone will have a sleepless night just because Pentecostal pastors are not on the Committee of Experts. They might as well contribute to the whole process through their intercessory prayers. The only two high-profiled personalities i think should have been included on the list are Prof. Munandulo and Dr. Chaloka Beyani. Both of them were key experts behind the new Kenyan constitution which is one of the best constitutions on the continent. They are reputable intellectuals in world class universities; Cornell University and London School of Economics respectively. Just google their names and marvel at
    their extremely rich CVs.

Once EFC is included, CPPAZ etc will pop up wanting inclusion too. 20 members are actually too many so I guess we have to leave it there. And its not like the will start from scratch, bali na crooks kudala so balekeni chabe!

I agree with Dr Mutesa. All those that are trying to make the man look unreasonable are not reasonable themselves, why did mr Sata not leave out the catholics and include the EFZ? The move to sideline EFZ by Sata is a deliberate move so that he can conive with the catholics to scrap off the Christian nation Clause. I wonder why the catholics hate the declaration? are they not Christians? …you shall know them by thir fruit.. We are watching you! I will be very disappointed if Sata wont include EFZ.
Iam Pf supporter, but on this one am disappointed.

It disheartens to see Bishops and so called pastors forget the great commission that Jesus gave to go and preach the gospel to all the world and venture into worldly things, be weary of such coz its Jst allowances they want.

No need to include EFX or whatever they are called. Just pick their views that were submitted in the NCC and use those. There is nothing new that they will bring to the table. We have wasted enough public funds mwabantu!!! Let them go back to their evangelical duties…

lets give credit where its due.Is president Sata ever going to do anything to your liking. The composition as far as I see it is fairly done.Evangelical what?its not every Jim and Jack who should be there.Let them continue praising Ruphiar Banda and MMD.We know Chihana and Mususu are behind the complaint.

20 is just ok.we dont need these EFZ fellows, they are fake christians, the catholics have a feeling for the poor and they plough back to the community and help in infastructure development.
