PF SCOOPS Chongwe, Nakonde Seats As UPND Gets MAGOYE
THE Ruling Patriotic Front (PF) has scooped the parliamentary by-elections seats in Chongwe and Nakonde.
Sylvia Masebo bounces back as MP for Chongwe after losing to her cousin in MMD’s Japhen Mwakalombe in 9/20 general elections who later resigned to take up a position in foreign service .
UPND has scooped Magoye constituency in southern province as expected.
The elections could not take place in Magoye and Nakonde on 9/20 following the death of two aspirants from then opposition PF and NMP.
Agents who are at the totaling centres across the three constituencies have already briefed Tumfweko about the results.

Chongwe
PF Candidate Sylvia MASEBO Polled eight thousand six-hundred and seven (8607) while Adrian Bauleni of the UPND/MMD pact polled three thousand nine hundred and two (3902).
David Chulu of FDD got one-hundred and seventeen (117) votes while UNIP’s Johannes Mativenga got one hundred and twenty three (123) votes.
The total number of registered voters in Chongwe is 52,166 and only 12,901 voters managed to cast their votes, which is only twenty-five percent of the registered voters.
Nakonde:
PF candidate Abel Sichula polled 8,841 votes and was seconded by the MMD candidate George Sinkala who managed to secure 2,116 votes.

People fail to distinquish the difference between the Bemba tribes and the Bemba speaking tribes. People from the Bemba tribe get annoyed when they are told Bembas have been ruling Zambia. There has never been a president from the Bemba tribe. I myself have never claimed to be Bemba because my father is Ushi and comes from Luapula. It is other tribes who call us Bembas. I will never forget the derogatory term Kapwepwe from the Bemba tribe used to call people from Luapula “Batubulu” meaning people who sh*t on water but surely if you are in the air do you return to land to sh*t. The election in Magoye was between Tongas except that one was on a party ticket led by a Bemba speaking president. This means that Tongas who stand on other parties other than UPND are ostracised.

i was born in luapula,but from eastern,lived in Tongaland,lusaka copperla everywhere i go!iam a free zambian and enjoyed staying with different people>lets just respect one another we are all the same in the eyes of God and we all belong to one country which is Zambia.No one should be more zambian than others.if a Lozi or Tonga apart from my tribe wants to be the president on this country and have good policy,i will vote for that person.and i did just that by VOTING FOR MCS,on the expense of my tribe man RB.God bless Zambia.

Fellow Zambians.If we know what is coming ahead of us we cannot be talking about tribes.When we were fighting for the liberations of the neighbours Zimbabwe,Angola,Mozambique and Namibia in the mid seventies and early eighties.When we fought on the fronts there was no tribalism.But only united in our spirits to move forward and many deaths were recorded.Now how many bembas,kaondes,tongas,lozis,mbundas,tumbukas,lenjes etc who died fighting for the benefit of us who are still living?We should learn to unite all the time.There is no superior human being on earth apart from “HUNGER”.No tribe is above than others.Look at our beautiful vegetations and other areas.GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

Hey!! This tribal debate is getting out of hand. Back home in India, if pipo behaved and where schooled like some of these bloggers, the country could have melted to smitherens way way back. Tell you what, India is like a rainball. There are too many ethnic groups and tribes practicing their own version of Hindi and Islam dotted all over India. What binds them together is the desire and belief in the tenets of democracy and the power of the vote. If at any time the pipo (sirks) from northen India entertained thoughts of superiority over the rest, then there could have been amalgedon, because the others cannot tolerate such nonsence.
