BY-ELECTION Update: POLICE NAB MMD Councillor In Chongwe For BRIBING

POLICE in Chongwe Monday 11/28 arrested MMD Chilimbana WARD councillor Charles Mumena for distributing money and T-shirts to the electorate.
Some alert youths captured Mr. Mumena after he allegedly gave them some money at bimbe polling station.
After searching his vehicle police found two voters cards with same passport size photo with same name but different particulars.
He also allegedly attempted to bribe the youths who captured him with a one million kwacha.
He is currently in police custody.
He has been charged with being in possession of election material on an election day.

    This is very serious. People what’s going on kanshi mu Zambia? Why two voters cards apapene, bribing also for that matter!!!! Arrest him, hope this was not just organized by someone else so the guy could be in trouble. Anything is possible ku Chongwe, I know.

    This should be a good time to put everything right.ups to the cops and youngths who acted. a question needs to be raised even as to wether no PF nor atha parties participated in corrupt practices- cops should remain professional and not to boot link the gorverment of the day like they have been doing in the past.

    EVEN IN CHINGOLA BY ELECTION CASH WAS EXCHANGING HANDS.THE MMD COUNSELOR BRIBED THE YOUTHS.AN INITIAL PAYMENT WAS GIVEN TO THE YOUTHS BEFORE VOTING WITH A PROMISE OF THE BALANCE AFTER THE RESULTS WHICH THEY DID COLLECT.HIS HOUSE WAS CONGESTED WITH YOUTHS GETTING BALANCES OF THE AMOUNT PROMISED AFTER THE FINAL RESULTS.50PIN BEFORE VOTING AND 100 PIN AFTER ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE RESULTS WHICH MOTIVATED MOST OF THE YOUTHS.
