MANSA police have arrested and detained four youths in connection with the death of Home Affairs Minister, Kennedy Sakeni’s son Angwele, who died on Sunday morning.
And police have launched a manhunt for the owner of the house where the deceased spent the night before he met his fate.
Luapula Province deputy commissioner of police Aaron Mushanga confirmed the arrest of the four youths, who were in the company of the minister’s son prior to his death.
Mr Mushanga said police were looking for the suspect who ran away after Angwele, 28, of Low Density residential area in Mansa, died.
“We want to know the cause of death of the minister’s son. Information filtering shows that there could have been a fight between the deceased and his friends shortly before he died,” he said.
Mr Mushanga said a postmortem for the late minister’s son would be conducted today.

I see a situation in future where by people will be taking the law into their own hands, because some of these police officers are so unprofessional, they need to be sent back for training or something!!

Who died is it the minister or the son. Too bad police dont rush to arrest people do investigate then later arrest thats why you always make mistakes and abuse human rights. Check it out.

The Police training is still running on the old sylubus from 1964 to date. Criminology has improved and become sofisticated a million times . Thats why it takes them years and years to investigate simple criminal offences. Government should upgrade Lilayi to a University to start offering advanced policing courses.Thats why they are even failing to flash out the three brothers who are terrorising Mkush block.

The community should be free to report the culprits to the police without any fear because culprit stay in the community. The community should not be very protective of their coleagues.Be a good citizen. As a citizen you have powers of arrest also.

Most of the police officers are well trained, most even have degrees and diplomas. The IG himself besides being a medical dr has a masters in forensic science. The problem is that they have no uniforms, transport and equipment to use. Remember during swearing in of Police Commissioners HE did allude to the fact that some did not even have badges of ranks and that Muntemba was even wearing her own shoes “ishamuselufu” thats the military lingo. GOD BLESS ZAMBIA

December 7, 2011 at 12:18 pm
Am so sad if the person who died is my former classmate at Nchelenge high school from 1996-1999.i understand he was a teacher by proffesion.I havent seen him for years but i met his father at kk airport sometime in 2010.his father told me he is a teacher, but what keeps me in doubt is the new name called ANGWELE,because the guy was called the same names of his father as KENNEDY SAKENI.if its him i miss him terribly..GOD Why?

Its a sad development that Hangwele has gone too soon, whatever happened on that day, will soon be revealed as his innocent blood will haunt his killers. The one who was at Nchelenge is his elder brother, Hangwele was at St Clements in Mansa. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
