MILUPI Says ‘FREEZING Of RB’s Benefits Is NOT STRANGE’

OPPOSITION Alliance for Democracy and Development ADD leader Charles Milupi says there is nothing sinister about the PF government’s decision to freeze former president Rupiah Banda’s benefits.
Mr. Milupi says the constitution is very clear on former presidents’ involvement in politics and their benefits.
He says the decision should not be perceived as a politically motivated move aimed at frustrating former republican president Rupiah Banda.
Government has with immediate effect suspended the disbursement of entitlements and benefits to former Republican president Rupiah Banda following the announcement by the MMD that they have maintained him as the party’s interim president which is in breach of the Benefits of Former President’s Act.
Mr. Milupi has since welcomed the decision by the government stating the Michael Sata led administration is within the constitution of Zambia.

I hope the freezing is not verbal but established in writing with the necessary legal instruments consulted. Otherwise RBs being retained as MMD President, as reported, can just be construed as the mere wish of some of his supporters which may still not be formally firmed by a resolution signed by NEC.

This is all crap and an opportunity for settling political scores. The definition of being actively involved in politics is very fuzzy – so somebody who serves at the expense of the president like KK, is not……?

Dis is exactly wat hapened 2 all our past President so who do u think RB de thief nd criminal is 2b above de law? If MMD allowed nd toralated such law breakers sorry dis is PF at wok nd no 1 nd nothing wil stand our way. Long liv Sata PF 4lif. God bles HE MCS nd our country.

@adviser, yo former president’s party, MMD did the same to KK wen he decided to engage himself in active politics by grabbing the presidence of UNIP frm Kebby Musokotwane, do u remember or u wr still in yo diapers? The constitution is very clear on this matter, u shld b condemning the MMD NEC who cant survive on their own fo forcing this man to continue as MMD president, clearly, he does not want to continue, he archieved what he wanted, he has had his revenge, all he wanted was to remove MMD frm government for what tthey did to him in 1991. His go was to destroy MMD and he did it.

RB has always been the MMD’s elected president since the last convention, therefore, even after the election when he announce that he will leave active politics, he did not do that because he was still trying to maneuver who he can leave the presidency too. The freezing is actually a bit late. MMD are full of lies and for as long they do not elect another corrupt chap, then RB will continue to be MMD boss and no wonder others have been asking him not to influence people voting for his favorite candidate because he is the boss and still has massive influence. Well done govt!

    December 20, 2011 at 10:42 am

ITS NOT PERMANENT…WEN RB DECIDES TO QUIT POLITICS, HIS BENEFITS WILL BE REREASED AS STARTED IN THE LAW…..SO HE WILL DECIDE HIMSELF WEN HE WANTS HIS MONEY AVAILABLE…AS AT NOW, HES CONTENT WITH WAT HE HAS……… SO NOTHING TO B EXITED ABOUT, UNLESS IF IT WAS SOMETHING PERMANENT

Balumendo nabakashana, I have one question to ask you. Bushe which is better to sit as an interim president and have your benefits frozen or leave politics and enjoy your benefits and respect? Ba Ala Bee power has gone to his head too much. Anyway, it is his choice so lekeni baficite ifyo fine balanda ati FREEZIT and he should not expect the same to be defrozen anytime soon. Sure ALA BEE, how can you accept to be like Loti’s wife wayaluka impinda yamucele pantu waceba kunuma kuli corruption, money laundering, planting money underground and …….. fill in the blanks.

Advisers of Mr RB kindly advise him to stay away from politics to earn maximum respect unlike the way they are saying that he is still acting Presido…….! All these things that are happening to him will be things of the past, it’s just too early for him to come out in the public and start interacting with the MMD……Let him just go to the farm.
