MULONGOTI Says ” KUNDA Is Now Tasting The SOUP Of Being In OPPOSITION. He Is a HYPOCRITE”

Former works and supply minister Mike Mulongoti says former Vice President George Kunda is now tasting the soup of being in opposition. Mr. Mulongoti says it is shameful that Mr. Kunda would now want to complain about media coverage.
He says Mr. Kunda was so negative towards the opposition when in government and should be the last person to talk about biased media coverage by the public media. He adds that the first question Mr. Kunda should ask himself is whether he treated the people in the opposition fairly.
Mr. Mulongoti says the former vice president is even lucky that he is being given coverage by the public media when the previous MMD government denied such coverage to the opposition parties particularly the Patriotic Front.
He adds it was Mr Kunda who opposed plans to further liberalize the operations of the media he served as information minister. Mr. Mulongoti has since described Mr. Kunda as a hypocrite.

What did Mulongoti do when he was Information Minister apart from, likewise, condemning The Post and media freedoms? It is Mulongoti who contriuted to the downfall of MMD by imposing RB as both Party and Republican President after the demise of Mwanawasa. Mulongoti condemned, and contributed to them being sidelined by RB, all those who aspired to take over from Mwanawasa. No wonder he was treated the same when he aspired for the MMD Vice Presidency. Going by how Mulongoti used to think at that time, George Kunda should have taken over the MMD presidency from RB, because he was the last sitting Republican Vice President during the reign of MMD. I do not in any way support Kunda but I also do not in any way support Mulongoti, except on his role and contribution of damaging the reputation of MMD to pave way for the PF.

The MMD was once advised (when the issue of media regulation was hot)that they will need fair coverage once in opposition.Zambia being a Christian nation should not forget that the bible says “do to your fellows what you would want them to do to you”.Kunda should never complain about public media.

Many times we called for media reforms,but he was too pre occupied,praising the trash of that fool chanda chimba,and rubbishing the professionalism of private media. Today it is that same media that has turned on him full force. Even with your education,your stupidity has been exposed mr kunda.

My advice to the public media is to be professional,we dont want these cunning crooks,to turn back and sue you,for all you are worth. Be professional,and report facts. Tax payer will not take kindly bailing you out especially since our memories are still fresh,with all your previous irresponsible behaviour

Both Mulongoti and Kunda are hypocrites of the highest disorder!! We have equally not forgotten how Mulongoti was behaving when he was in government!! Mulongoti is on record for teasing Zambians who dont own DSTV to go and watch Africa Cup games from bars and tarvens after ZNBC failed to sponsor the tornament in 2008!

Politics is about survival, did you expect Mulongoti to stick to a TITANIC MMD? He was booted out of MMD and he didn’t join PF but used the PF platform to see to it that RB joined him on the street.

He also doesn’t need a job from the PF, for your own information he was offered a job as permanent representative at the UN but he turned it down. He achieved his GOAL through the PF victory… CHAPWA!!

Mr Kunda is not the first member/party in the opposition to complain about biased coverage by the public media. Remember just a few months ago it was PF. Now that they are in office they are quiet. Does it mean the public media is dancing to the PFs tune? The point Kunda is projecting is that the public media needs serious transformation in their coverage in order to earn public confidence.
