MUSOKOTWANE Says ” SATA Should TONE-DOWN His Mouth”

Former Finance and National Planning Minister in the Rupiah Banda government Situmbeko Musokotwane has urged Republican President Michael Sata to tone down.

Speaking in an interview with Qfm, Dr. Musokotwane who is also Liuwa MMD Member of Parliament says the recent remarks attributed to President Sata in the media are not suitable for a head of state.

Dr. Musokotwane referred to a recent statement in which President Sata labeled former Republican Vice President George Kunda as a dullest lawyer in Africa for his claims that Dr Guy Scott does not qualify to hold the office of vice president.

He explains that such public utterances against perceived enemies will judge President Sata harshly and further calls on him to tone down.

And Dr. Musokotwane has charged that the poor performance of the Kwacha against major currencies is an indication that Zambia is paying the price for government’s failure to provide confidence in the country’s economy.
He says if not quickly addressed, the trend is likely to cause disparities in the country’s economy where imports will be much more expensive than exports.

    YES THE PRESIDENT WILL TONE DOWN,BUT YOU SHOULD EQUALLY ADVISE YOUR FRIEND GEORGE KUNDA TO TALK LIKE A LEARNED LAWYER AND NOT LIKE A STREET LAWYER.

    NO.2 WHAT IS MR MOSOKOTWANE TALKING ABOUT ON THE DEPRECIATION OF THE KWACHA? DO YOU UNDERSTAND ECONOMICS BWANA? THAT MONEY HE HAS AND HIS FRIENDS HAVE BURIED HAVE A NEGATIVE IMPACT ON THE ECONOMY.

    WHAT CONFIDENCE? FIGHTING CORRUPTION WILL BUILD INVESTOR CONFIDENCE.IF ORIGINAL THIEVES ARE PUT BEHIND BARS,THEN GENIUNE INVESTORS WILL HAVE CONFIDENCE THE GOVERNMENT,UNLIKE THE MMD.

    God has a way of cleansing and exposing hidden evil.All the rubbish and corruption which went on unchecked for 3 years, is now coming out.We call it shock-therapy.And it is healthy for a nation to go through it.Genuine quietness is healthy, but not tell somebody to tone down the voice becoz of what that voice will bring out.We have tolerated evil for a long time in Zambia.

    FX, I concur with you! These MMD plunderers expect the Rupiah treatment of Chiluba. Michael will not respect anyone who makes racist based arguments about Guy Scott not being fit to be VP of Zambia. This country needs a no nonsense president right now so that all the gangs of lumpens and plunderers like GK and Musokotwane respectively can be put in their right places. GK and Musokotwane are yapping rubbish on a daily basis and you tell our president to tone down, you tone down yourselves, embeciles! GK was being a racist and you expected the president to speak peacefully with him? GK deserves every shouting he is getting over the Guy Scott VP saga he started without thinking through it! Sata shout at them more these idiots, we are with you!

    Toning down should mean the president must be rational in leading a country not using kaponya mentality in leading a country.
    Political mistakes could genuinely be solved politically.
    eg In South Africa when ANC took over power they did not slaughter those politicians(white govt -= which made very serious blunders)) who made political mistakes or crimes. Mandela called them around the table and said lets have a truth and reconsiliation commission to reflect back and chart the way forward together.
    Sata or PF should have called MMD leadership and discussed on how the country could have been reconciled so that we move forward together.
    At the moment we have a situation of cheer and jeer which is not health for the nation but just motivates tension. PF supporter may think that they are a majority with only 1.5million people, perpetrating tension cant be the right way.

    @Keen Follower:
    The situation you refer to in South Africa was totally different from the one existing in Zambia under the MMD. South Africa had come from a state of apartheid and oppression of the indigenous people, a situation that had polarized that society. In Zambia, under MMD, it was a case of thieving and plunder by people entrusted with public resources. How then does a truth and reconcilliation commision come in? You do not reconcile with plunderers and thieves: you jail them!
