Bishop John Mambo has charged that revelations of increased irregularities in the 2010 Auditor General’s report are a clear confirmation that Zambia stinks of corruption.
Bishop Mambo says it is saddening to note that Zambia has been singing the song of poverty and unemployment when billions of kwacha go unaccounted for.
He says the Patriotic Front government has a mammoth task to correct the disturbing revelations of corruption in the previous MMD government.
Bishop Mambo has however noted that the Patriotic Front government is working hard to ensure that misappropriation of funds is reduced.
He has predicted that more revelations will come to the fore in view of the change of government.
Bishop Mambo in an interview with QFM radio on Wednesday appealed to civil servants to help the PF government achieve its goals.
The latest Auditor General’s report has revealed a sharp increase in excess expenditure in 2010 to the tune of K814 billion from K87 billion in 2009.

Redson Chisenda watch your tongue. The Bishop has the right to comment on issues affecting the nation, it is not that he is looking for favours from anyone. Zambia is full of corrupt pipo. Lets support the president the direction he has taken to clean the stinking mess in this country. Some of you are just fools who just say things as if you are dreaming. If you dont have something good to say about somebody please ZIP UP.

I like to think in terms of REAL money.
£100 million. Eeesh! Bakiti! That is a lot of money. Sorry President Banda, this money was lost during YOUR watch so the buck stops with you. We need to know:
1. There was misappropriation in 2009. What did you do about it?
2. Why did you let people go scott free misappropriating money like this?
3. Is there no wonder that a certain ex-minister allegedly buried £300,000?
4. Did you divert this money to MMD campaigns?
5. In your farewell speech you said, and I quote, ‘We never knowingly abused state resources.’ Was that a tacit admission that you did? You know sir, ignorance is no defence.
I defended your government left, right and center, hoping that all those attacks on you were unfair, but to date, I am only left with shame. Please President Banda, say something!!!!
