30-STOREY Hotel BUILDING Built In 15 Days

They’re a 21st century super power with super computers and a super economy that’s the envy of the world.

Now China can claim another title – the fastest builders on the planet after putting up a 30-storey  183,000-square-foot hotel in just 15 days, or 360 hours.

A construction crew in the south-central Chinese city of Changsha completed this remarkable achievement with no injuries to any worker.

Finished: The 30-storey Ark Hotel in the Chinese city of Changsha was built in just 15 days

Constructing a skyscraper once took months if not years to build. But not anymore, and certainly not in China.

In this recently released time-lapse video, a 30-story hotel is built in just 15 days, or 360 hours.

Constructed in Dongting Lake in Hunan province, the hotel is 170,000 square feet and can withstand a 9.0 earthquake reports Treehugger.

The plot: The empty land where the hotel would rise after 360 hours

According to the International Business Times, the prefabricated modules were put together in a factory and then placed on steel structures at the construction site.

Steady: The sections built off the site are maneuvered into position by men who worked until 10pm every night

The Chinese company behind the speedy design and building is Broad Group, a firm which previously built the 15-story Ark Hotel in Changsha, China, in just six days.

Up, up and away! The high-rise rocketed up in a matter of days. It was built by Broad Group, a Chinese construction company which specialises in sustainable architecture

Safety first: The construction crew completed this remarkable achievement with no injuries to any worker

All of the structure is soundproofed and thermal-insulated and each room has air quality monitoring

Room with a view: One of the bedrooms at the Ark Hotel

In position: Workers fit the units which can withstand a massive earthquake

@ burn it up,very pertinent point…imagine being found by the rescue team while you are erect!!

    @zedwa,this Chinese propaganda BS:
1)youtube “hotel built in 15 days” and you will see that the video was manipulated to fit with the desired time scale!
2)even if we accepted it was built in 15 days, that would be misleading simply because what they did was assembling the pre-fabricated material in 15 days!! In other words, they spent much more time in the factory making the prefab material! Put it this way,the title should be “hotel ASSEMBLED in 15 days”

On wider point, the Chinese are always in a hurry because theit AUTHORITARIAN govt doesn’t look at consequences, especially the environment! For example, they hired a German company to do super fast trains….the Germans did it in 3 yrs but when the Chinese extended the railway, they did it in about 1 yr in order to SHOW OFF!!Result, the railway cracked and resulted in about 50 deaths and they now want the German company back but the Germans refused coz the Chinese are busy STEALING their technology coz they have NONE of Chinese origin!!!

Average Chinese are on $4000/ capita, average American & European have $40,000/capital…contrary to the perceptions, the average Chinese (there is over 1 BILLION of them) is slightly better of average Africans!! Even then, most Africans can express their views freely while the Chinese can’t!!

Make up your mind on who is better off!!

Nga quality? Let’s hope the inside is as good as the outside looks. I’ve been to the Chinese hotel in Lusaka whose inside is over decorated with very cheap and low quality materials that appear so colourful. I’ve also seen the accommodation units being constructed for our soldiers in Kabwe along the Kabwe-Kapiri Mposhi road, which are prefabricated components that can be completed in record time but am not sure of their durability!

Its gud achievement but it will remain a constant threat to the patrons. It can colapse due to few errors that cud have gone along as they hastled their way to finishing it at a supersonic speed. Thumbs up to China!!!
