PETER Daka WARNED

PETER Daka, the former Science, Technology and Vocation Training Minister has become the latest former MMD Government minister to be warned and cautioned by the Joint Government Investigative Wing.

He has been warned and cautioned for the offence of obtaining pecuniary advantage by false pretences contrary to section 309(a) subsection 1 and 2 of the Penal Code Cap 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

Joint Government Investigative Wing Public Relations Officer Charity Chanda has told QFM that this is a case in which Mr Daka is alleged to have accumulated an electricity bill of K45 million at his former official residence at house no. 5368/4 along Brentwood drive in Woodlands where he was using a purportedly residential tariff for commercial gain of his block making business.

Mrs Chanda says the former minister was cautioned from Petauke Police Station this morning.

Mr Daka who is eyeing the Msanzala parliamentary seat in next month’s by-election joins the list offormer ministers being investigated for alleged corruption.

Micheal Sata fired 73 DCs with a pretext that they are cadres but to look around all those appointed are same cadres and infact worse are his because they are not educated. MMD had a cutesy of giving qualified staff. Msanzala will be the start of their failure wait. MMD has very intelligent character compared to PF the only position we know in the part is Secretary General and beleive you me SATA will never name a successor though as at now GIVEN is their only choice.

@GUNDA….I hope this is a joke coming from you. Sure politics should be about finishing each other? God forbid where this country is going. While we complained abt ZNBC monopolised coverage, doesn’t this amount to the same with what is going on now? People love PF and we should not allow people so soon to find cause to hate PF the way they hated MMD.

PF this is a debt Peter Daka owes ZESCO. Let ZESCO collect it. DEC does not come in on this. Lets not misuse DEC or people will not take this gvt seriously and will lose confidence in this important institution(DEC).

When my bill reaches K200, 000 ZESCO is at my door step with disconnection orders. But these BAD leaders use to accumulate K45M in bills without a single disconnection order… Zambians, Zambians is this what you call leading by example????

whether small or big abuse of authority is still abuse, there is nothing wrong in making the former Minister account for what is deemed to be a wrong doing! if he was in order the court will vindicate Him, so lets leave that to the courts of Law. zen please BaZed, Parliament shows the qualifications of all past ans serving members of Parliament so stop misleading the Nation on such matters. thugs are thugs and must be dealt with!

How I wish all those who served under RB, engaged in corruption and stole public money could develop Big pimples or rash on the forehead (impompo pa mpumi) so that they are recognised wherever they are even before DEC and police move in to question them.

The man you are saying is a respectable man, he is good man, not long ago was in court for grabbing somebodys woman and today he is in papers for not settling the bills so if he continued to be in government he was not even going to pay. do you know what a 45 m can do to settle allowances for civil servants. MMD was corrupt period thats why they were voted out and part of the PF mandate is to pursue corrupt chap in the former corrupt regime. GOD bless PF and ZAMBIA.
