ZAMBIA Beats E. Guinea 1-0 To TOP GROUP And Advance To QUARTERFINALS

MALABO, Equatorial Guinea — Zambia beat already-qualified Equatorial Guinea 1-0 in the African Cup of Nations on Sunday to secure first place in Group A and join the co-host in the quarterfinals.
Christopher Katongo scored the winning goal in the 67th minute at the Nuevo Estadio de Malabo as Equatorial Guinea’s unexpected run of two opening victories came to an end.
The result meant unbeaten Zambia topped the group, while Equatorial Guinea finished in second place and will face a likely meeting with cup favorite Ivory Coast in the last eight.
The scoreline also eliminated Libya despite a 2-1 win against Senegal. Libya needed Equatorial Guinea to beat Zambia to have any chance of progressing.

Chipolopolo won but the performance was not superb. Physical approach was demonstrated by both teams with no any skills and talent to offer. In any case, thanks for the Nshima and experiences learnt for choking India in friendlies. Emphasingly, Zambia cannot emerge as a Tsar in this AFCON, let alone the Tsar’s deputy. It is an utter nosense to hold a fixed false of belief that Chipolopolo is untouchable and will bring the trophy to Lusaka. I am a very angry stateless individual who is fed up with these near misses by Zambia to emerge at the apex of AFCON at each and every tournament. Mindful, none of these teams are immuned or rather ring fenced to defeats, despite the odds claims to the contrary Hhahahaha Senegal, Angola

without underrating Sudan, Zambia has the best team, as demonstrated so far. Only the evil spirited Barca 10 will find it hard to join truly soccer fans appreciation of African football!
