Masturbation Is Not A Sin – Pastor Chris Oyakhilome [Video]
For people worried about offending God on the issue of masturbation, yours truly renowned man of God of the Christ embassy Pastor Chris Oyakilome reckons it is not a sin to masturbate.
In a television broadcast of Pastor Chris Live, a viewer from Ghana sent in a question asking how one can overcome masturbation.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome kept his cool and tackled the questions head on – even though his answer must have got a good number of viewers going OMG!
“The reason you want to stop this is because of what you think it is,” he says. “You think there’s something wrong with this. Get this straight, in itself it is not a sin against God but satan uses it to oppress our minds to make us feel ineffective and inefficient in the things of God. God has got nothing to do with it, he is not offended by it unless it takes a hold of your mind.”
Pastor Chris likens masturbation to playing football. It’s a habit, he says, and if you want to stop it, replace it with another habit.
Ok, so certainly, this must come as a relief to many!

Much like a person who is an Alcoholic must avoid any kind of drinking like the plague, where others can drink with moderation and without sin, the same principle applies here.
The question is..
Can you in honesty, masturbate without sinning against the clear commands of Christ? If yes, then we are never told that the act is impure or forbidden. But let us be honest and admit that it is not easy to do if we are committed to avoid sexual sin.

By very uncommon reasoning, what makes masturbation wrong is that it goes against the proper use of the faculty of human sexuality. Sexy is meant for mutual enjoyment; there is so much of mutual-self-giving to the other loved person involved in the practice of sex. No wonder people tolk of soul-ties. To who do you give yourself each time you masturbate? To noone; but rather use yourself to attain some pleasure. It is morally wrong to use a person for Your own individual pleasure; worse to use yourself. It is a very selfish act that defeats the whole purpose of human sexuality; mutual self-giving (sex is meant for this).

So people might come to different conclusions concerning masturbation, and that is anticipated within our faith. Each man must live in holiness before the Lord in his/her own body, and this might mean different disciplines and personal leading in each case. What works for me or you… we should not impose on anybody else as a stumbling block.
Rom 14:12-13 (NIV) So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God. Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling-block or obstacle in your brother’s way.
The important thing is that we live holy before Him, and this is a matter that we should take very seriously. I assume this is why you are interested in this question, because you want to please God by avoiding any kind of sin. And when it comes to sexual sin in the thought-life, in our culture this is an easy temptation to fall into. So care and caution are appropriate as we consider these things and make choices before the Lord.

Bible Answer: Just recently I came across a passage of Scripture that seems to deal with masturbation.
“‘When a man has an emission of semen, he must bathe his whole body with water, and he will be unclean till evening. Any clothing or leather that has semen on it must be washed with water, and it will be unclean till evening. When a man lies with a woman and there is an emission of semen, both must bathe with water, and they will be unclean till evening. (Lev 15:16-18)
Notice verse 18 deals with seminal emission during sexual intercourse, but verse 16 is speaking of a seminal emission that does not occur as a result of intercourse. If this is indeed a reference to masturbation, the matter-of-fact way in which God deals with this matter certainly indicates that no feelings of shame should be attached to it. He simply said, “Go take a bath.”
It seems to me that if God were really bothered by such a practice, then He missed a teachable moment here in this passage. Since He clearly condemns sexual intercourse between men in Leviticus 18:22 and says “that is detestable”, I think that if He had really wanted us to avoid this particular practice, He would at least have said something like “That is disgusting” instead of “Go take a bath.”
Masturbation has been around for a long time, and since God does not clearly condemn it, I would not be too bothered with it either. Masturbation is practice far more than adultery or fornication yet God is practically silent on the issue. This ought to tell you that God is not overly concern with it.
However, let me caution you against addiction to masturbation. Just like most things, masturbation can turn into an addiction. If you find yourself constantly—several times a day—masturbating then you can be reasonably sure that you have a sexual addiction. Paul said, “‘Everything is permissible for me’—but I will not be mastered by anything” (1 Cor 6:12). This includes masturbation. Also, you should never use pornography to masturbate, and if you are married, keep your thoughts on your wife. It is the same sin to make love to your wife while thinking about another woman as it is to masturbate while thinking about another woman. Concerning single people, I have no advice other than a prohibition to pornography.
If a believer uses masturbation to alleviate sexual temptation that’s far better than actually being tempted to commit fornication or adultery. I would rather have a man masturbate than go to a prostitute.
Another thought, if masturbation is sinful, then you would expect there to be bad health consequences to it, such as found in adultery, homosexuality, and fornication (diseases for one thing). Instead, research has found that masturbation serves to release sexual tension. If a man is prevented from having sexual release, then the seminal fluids can back up, causing increased sexual tension and physical discomfort. It also increases the risk of prostate inflammation. This might explain why priests who practice celibacy and who view masturbation as sinful have a higher rate of prostate cancer.
Since there are proven medical benefits to masturbation, it is difficult to make a biblical and reasonable case against it.

Brethren, please be warned….when commenting on matters concerning Men of God such as Pastor chris or indeed many other men of God, we should all be careful not to make careless statements that will attract curses unto ourselves. If you do not heed this warning, do not cry when you are in trouble.
about the matter at hand, you need Spiritual maturity to understand this topic. when you replay the clip Tumfewko has attached to this article. you will see that Pastor Chris is clear about this matter. Tumfweko should also attach a clip where Pastor’s views on homosexuality are clearly mentioned. thank you @Pastor Paul Wise Lumbu for your comments. the thing is we are so judgmental and have classified anything we do not like as Sin instead of seeking God’s word on such matters. Please start going for bible study and watch Pastor Chris’ teachings on love world television , better still start getting yourselves copies of the rhapsody of realities book which is all over Zambia.
