HH Says ‘SATA Has Really Lowered The Presidency’

United Party for National Development (UPND) leader Hakainde Hichilema has charged that President Michael Sata has failed to discipline commerce minister Bob Sichinga for alarming the nation that there was fake money in circulation that was printed by the MMD.

Sata

He says this is so because President Sata was the first person to make such allegations and has since noted that lack of policy consistency by PF will cost the country of the much needed economic prosperity.

Mr. Hichilema has also supported the calls by the civil servants to have their conditions of service improved saying their demands are genuine considering the fact that the cost of living has continued to rise.

He adds that it is therefore regrettable that President Sata choose to threaten the labour movement for merely demanding for improved conditions of service.

The opposition leader speaking at a press briefing in Lusaka today wondered why the head of State has been taking a confrontational stance whenever he is challenged on issues of national importance.

Hakainde

Mr. Hichilema observes that President Sata’s leadership style has lowered the office of the presidency of this country and has since urged the people that voted for the PF to learn a lesson.

And Mr. Hichilema says the directive by President Sata to youth and sport minister Chishimba Kambwili to draw up an action plan for the youth in the country is an indication that the party in government has no clear plan for the younger generations.

He adds that President Sata has failed to deliver to the people of Zambia on his 90 day campaign promise in which among other things he promised to restore the Barotseland agreement and enact a new constitution.

I still wonder how some people think. Do not keep quiet just because you are PF. When things go wrong, correct them because Sata is also human. Let us think as Zambians not PF. There are promises which have not been delivered up to now. When are we going to learn kanshi? Sata is already failing in vital areas

@mable phiri, what I believe HH should do is to (borrowing from the Americans) “act presidential”. There was a time when he was doing that, especially around the time he gone into the pact. He could come on radio and analyse issues in a cool and level headed manner. But in the recent past, his responses have been too emotional, almost outbursts… He should cool down before making any response. That is the posture/language of someone aspiring for high office.

Also, he should reach out to other provinces, by seriously engaging them. Bring in people of substance from other tribes, not just token appointments. Then should be a concerted effort to give “visibility” to other leaders, say not all party positions should be put forward by one person, otherwise it would look like HH = UPND. This is not the image you would want for a party that wants to have a national appeal.

I wonder what type of president HH can be coz the whole Zed will surely be tongalized and that is for sure from the way the UPND behaves as if they own Southern Province.

All of you insulting and criticizing Sata even when you must give credit you are no better that him and infact worse than HH. How can he fail when he has been in power for less than half a year?? This is just politiking or you are too overwhealmed with hate and hurt to reason. He can only be seen to be failling if he clocks half his term with no positive change whatsoever. Viva Sata Viva PF. TABLES HAVE TURNED AND ITS TIME YOU TASTED YOUR OWN POISON OR WAIT FOR TIME WHEN TABLES WILL TURN ON YOU FAVOR, SO SIT BACK AND WATCH IF YOU CANNOT HELP DRIVE THIS CARAVAN.

HH HAS NO STRATEGY. CAN SOMEONE HELP THIS MAN. PF HAS 5 YEARS MANDATE. IT WILL BE WRONG TO SAY THEY HAVE FAILED IN 6 MONTHS. CAN YOU BUILD A ROAD IN 6 MONTHS?

ANY WAY THIS MAN WILL ALWAYS COMPLAIN WE ARE NOW GETTING USED TO HIS COMPLAINTS. AND AT THIS RATE I DOUBT IF HE WILL EVER GET INTO STATE HOUSE.

HHHHHHHHH or Whatever you call yourself!! you will never become Presdident of Zambia apart from just being President for the Bantustan. You do not even come out as a leader everytime you open your filthy mouth. Even after PF’s win, it was difficult for you to humble yourself and congratulate the winning team. You are indeed a very angry man. NAREP has even caught up with you and the party is even becoming more popular than u are despite trying several times to become President.

HH, You wanted Bob fired?? It appears you have not recovered from his decision to leave UPND along time ago????

Come on, find some credible issues to debate, holding a press briefing is not just about makign any news, try to listen to Elias Chipimo Junior and hear how he balances his comments. If the there is need to commend, Chipimo will do that, if it is critising, Chipimo will do that but with measured language.

You are soon becoming irrelevant to the equation!!!

I love that MMD is not in power but dictorial manner of ‘its my way or the highway’ of Micheal Sata scares me. Zambia has always been a place of freedom of speech but i feel that this is changing.
