WTF!! Lusaka Businessman Ready to Give Gvt 160 Billion Kwacha For the Impending 53 By Elections

A Lusaka entrepreneur says if the government and other cooperating partners don’t have money to fund the impending 53 by elections caused by the de-registration of the MMD, he is ready to foot the bill to cost about K160 billion.

Lawrence Mulenga who was the owner of the land now housing Lusaka’s Levy Junction before it was grabbed from him by the MMD government said he had discussed the issue with his wife and was ready to take up the challenge.
“The government is saying they have no money but if they really don’t have it, I have discussed the issue with my wife this morning and we are ready to foot the bill through our company Mwange Contractors,” said Mulenga, according to this evening’s Mobi TV main news.

There have been some concerns from some sections of society that the de-registration of the MMD will have serious economical consequences on public coffers. It is claimed the government doesn’t have money to fund the impending by-elections because they were not budgeted for in the 2012 National budget.

But Mulenga, an engineer by profession whose businesses were messed up by the MMD when it was in power said it is important that the country holds by-elections to replace the MMD MPs saying he will do his part to make sure this is achieved.

He added that the de-registration of the MMD should serve as a lesson to ruling parties against disregarding some laws simply because they are in power.

Chief Registrar of societies Clement Ndeleki early this week announced the banning of the MMD over their failure to pay annual returns as demanded by the societies act.

The outstanding debt stands at over K390 million.

The deregistering of the MMD means the former ruling party has lost all its 53 parliamentary seats and this will be final if their legal action against the move fails to go through.

Kabolala! Is he listed among the rich zedians? Levy park was a sorry sight be4 govt took over. How did he amass all that? Before he is allowed to take up the bill for by-elections he should be audited. Anyway nakambako chabe because of democracy and freedom of speech, which are at stake at the moment.

Mr Mulenga sir,it seems having all that money has equally confused your mind. Why can’t you take the little you have to give to the various Zambians who are wallowing in poverty? You even have the courage to say i discussed this with my wife even have time to participate in dirty planning ideas. If the mmd gov’t mistreated you, its not upto you to pay back what they did but that you should leave vegeance to the Lord alone. Look at the many orphanages we have in Zambia and imagine people having one meal a day and here you are talking about 160 billion for what, You are the biggest fool i have ever come across.
To hell with your monies and remember that God is capable of leaving you in missery because of your intention to please man and not him. Why not build more churches besides giving to the poor.
    Musukwalaho ni musali ahao.

Money is not evil, but we are evil,if Mr Mulenga wants to fund by elections let him go ahead, with the current situation,we need leaders who are valid for the to stay i parliament.Let Mr. Mulenga also give other monies he has to the poor in our community,by-elections will bring peace in our country. This confusion will not end because our MPs are invalid, will not receive response the Govt.

    March 16, 2012 at 3:16 pm

    Mulenga’s Comment:

The offer to sponsor the by elections is in good faith in appreciation of the PF government’s stance to empower Zambians. Most important to note MMD failed to collect this money for the past 9 years even Parliament under the MMD government was aware but they did nothing. When we talk of the poor and orphans we miss the point that the government is the creator of poverty. This is not about the money its about supporting the government’s efforts in putting more money in the Zambian people’s pockets and getting rid of poverty.

Some of you bloggers should think before you blurt out the nonsense you are churning out. In the first place what govt on this planet has had elections funded by a citizen? None. The PF govt is unlikely to be the first. The fact is Mr Mulenga knows this. He is merely grandstanding. That is perhaps just to provoke the anxieties of citizens in the MMD or like these bloggers here who are heavily perspiring over a non-event.

That chap is ******,we are trying to build our systems of governance and he thinks funding the by-elections that would be created from his pocket would be the answer. If he has nowhere to take the money, let him become another CEEC so that vanurable youths can become business persons. Fact: Lusaka looks super with the view of Levy Junction, than whatever that thing that was there.

@ ZED DUDE,” I can see alot of people employed there at LEVY and it has changed the face of Lusaka”. The end does not justify the means, I will put it this way for you, you go for a DNA test and discover that the child beautiful child child that you love most is not even yours then you just brush it aside and smile about it ati, “anyway, kaili nalimutemwa umwana,” forgetting that your wife went to a N’ganga for umuti wabufyashi, and she was told to sacrifice her father inlaw who happens to be your own dad!!

Higher tall, tawashiba ati ama tycoons are the ones who fund and run most of these economies that you admire in the western world, and they are the same ones who run these big clubs that you love and like watching with your big tummy!!! So let’s not just comment for the sake of commenting and show us your ignorance and your tuma narrow minds

iwe kupena uko including your wife who agreed to gve the government that amount of money. That amount of money can change a lot of zambians if used wisely who are really in need. You Can create a charitable O
rganisation that will be able to help people with challenging illnesses, to send them abroad, or locally for treatment.sponsor orphans to go and study locally or.. abroad.Guess wat you couldnt even put electicity, sink boreholes, put tarmac in your home village….if you have run out of ideas get a clue from the comments from the concerned zambians.
