Wina Says “BNC Acted Quickly”

Nalolo Member of Parliament Inonge Wina feels the people of western Province should have waited for cabinet to study the recommendations of the Commission of inquiry that was instituted to investigate the Mongu riots before coming up with resolutions on the Barotseland agreement.

Mrs. Wina says it is for this reason that the government has not commented on the matter because cabinet has to study the report before it can give its position.

She adds that it would also be premature for her respond to calls by the Barotseland National Council suggesting that western province members of parliament resign in order to pave way for the preparations for the secession process.

Mrs. Wina the current gender and Child Development Minister has told QFM news that she is however happy that peace has continued to prevail in western province and that business is running as usual.

In the resolution passed during a meeting held recently in Limulunga, the Barotseland National Council (BNC) recommended that Barotseland secedes from Zambia to become an autonomous state.

i am really becoming convinced that every one in PF has a mental problem. the only people who over reacted when the report came out were micheal satan and wynter kabimba. PF leaders if you do not want to fulfil your promise then just shut up and we will remove you in 2016, after all you only got 1 million votes out of 13 million people.

So now this Inonge wants to dance to the tune of ‘its’ master?!! She watched helplessly when PF kaponyas including UKWA’s puppet Guy Scott ridicule BA64 & the people of Barotseland in parliament & she never said a word! The BRE ve acted on time & they ve the support of all level minded Lozis. As for you ignorant imbeciles insulting Lozis continue doing so after all we know you are just being jealous!

Ukwa said he will not follow the recomendations and his chola boy Kabimba said the report was rubbish.

So, what does Inonge expect Lozi’s to be waiting for?

  10. Barotseland 4EVER!

    April 2, 2012 at 12:36 am

Well said @Nzengos. There is nothing realistic to expect from the PF-Kaponya-led cabinet over that report! Besides, when did they receive it? Weeks ve now past yet up to now they remain mute! The behaviour of their kaponyas in parliement does not inspire confidence at all. Gabriel Namulambe had to ask the PF mouth piece to boot out one hippo that seemed so easily emotional! With these jokers around let The BRE move even more faster to secure Barotseland from Satan!

THE QUESTION WHICH SHD BE ASKED IS’
WHEN WAS THE COMMISION REPORT GIVE?
WHAT WAS SAID BY THE PRESIDO WHEN IT WAS GIVEN?
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO READ A REPORT?
WHEN IST GOIN TO BE MADE PUBLIC.
SO YOU WANT THE LOZI TO WAIT FOR WHAT WHEN ASNWERS ARE ALREADY THERE.

People are saying Sata said he will honor the Barotse Agreement. But I feel honoring the agreement is not tantamount to secession. And LIKE i said yesterday, when Kaunda and others were signing the agreement they were not doing it for secession, but for a unitary state. And if my memory serves me well, all those who are advocating for secession were yesterday, when P.F. was in opposition, saying that it is not secession that they were protesting for but development in Western Province. What is needed now is to advocate for development in Western Province and to refine the Barotse agreement through dialogue so it conforms to today’s challenges, not this extremism that we are seeing. One Zambia One Nation. I rest my case.

Guys stop insulting your mother. Just give your opinion about her opinion in a civil manner. You can pity those MPs. It is difficult for them since as for now they can’t tell wich way the scale will tilt. Even if it were you. Resigning now may not be the correct thing to do. Who knows may be a better solution can be found through dialogue and not through hyped emotions. VIVA BO INONGE. Let sanity return then KK and the church lead us in discussion, rather than listening to hot heads like Kabimba. Maturity guys. Insulting we can but not unnecessarily.

For once, all you people condemning Lozis should think again, i havent heard any one ask ‘what Sata was thinking about when he was bizy promising’ this man was in UNIP & MMD so he knew what he was promising. But you 4get all and say Lozis are this & that, what about the man who promised, what is he? thats why politicians lie because they know the majority have poor memory, He brought up this mess – he should sort it out. He is using you same people with poor memory to help him by you turning against Lozis. As for me, this should be a lesson to all politicians who take voters for granted…..we need more heat for politicians to learn. HE SHOULD SORT IT OUT & I KNOW FORCE WILL NOT WORK….Sata isnt a straight man Lies…some of us even believed in 90 days & we still believe we have the right president….Please God ‘Let there be someone brand new to vote for next time’

Only a fool would blame Mrs Wina for taking that stance. It was the same with Sinyinda,Musokotwane,Liato Lungwangwa and othe Lozi’s who held senior positions in Gvt. None of them opposed the killings in Mongu. Only a fool would support this nonsense being propagated by selfish individuals with a personal agenda. They have worked in Govt now that they are out they want to cause confusion. Please Well meaning Lozi’s rise up en refuse this nonsense. What can Sinyinda do for you, he was MP for Senanga let show any developmental projects that he initiated.

The BA64 IN ITSELF IS NOT AN AGREEMENT OF UNIFICATION AS BRITISH RULE WAS FOR NORTHERN RHODESIA, BRITISH MAPS STILL INDICATE SO.
What i notice is the Litunga’s selfishness was going to delay independence cos he wanted to continue being British citizen.
Does it now become british after secession!?
There was no valid treaty between the british and the Litunga as the latter claimed far far beyond his chiefdom hence null and void treaty. They both were acting like sea PIRATE.
It follows then that the BA64 is being used as a tool by the defeated FOR MASS DESTRUCTION.

@The Zedian, I agree with you that pf lied on some issues like the windfall tax. But on the issue of Barotse please tell everyone what was promised en if possible interpret the English that was used. For example tell us what restoration and valid of the BA64 is? Please educate us what this means in the context of the BA64? Since you seem to be following these issue more closely . Also what’s yo take on the fact that the current Ngambela en many other propagating secession where in government? Majority of these have enjoyed, made there money and even retired. They failed to develop their areas. What about the fact that its difficult to aquire land or take development to Western province especially if u are outsider?

  23. Treva

    April 2, 2012 at 10:00 am

The big question that needs answers is PF promised to address the barotse issue and MMD refused to even allow pipo to discuss it hence, unleashing the Police on those who gathered to do so and killed so many pipo. UPND was not so vocal about it either. When voting time came LOZIS themselves chose a party (MMD) that has rejected the agreement and did so in a brutal fashion by killing pipo. If Lozis are so passionate about the agreement why then did they chose MMD over PF and UPND? And lastly, where was the current Ngambela during the January 14 killings and what was his position then? Hypocrisy at play and believe me pipo are using the agreement to get political recognition.

  24. Treva

    April 2, 2012 at 10:10 am

And just to enlighten pipo who have problems understanding MCS statement when receiving the report was that he said ” I will be reluctant to recommend the implementation to Cabinet” What does that mean? Does it mean he will never or does it mean it can never? He never said govt wont recognize it but everything was and is subject to discussion. And he told the same pipo after the MOREBA, LINYUNGANDAMBO visited at State House to continue to dialogue & to engage govt on all issues pertaining to this. The question again is did RB or any president do this?

The World is talking about ‘Global Village’, Regional integration (e.g.SADC, ECOWAS, ARAB LEAGUE), United States of Africa, Coming up with one Currency e.g. the EURO,etc. We know there was an agreement but agreements can be changed through dialogue, secession is not the solution. Zambia is not like Sudan were there was war between North and South. We have lived in harmony as a unitary state. Let’s maintain the spirit of togetherness, we have inter-married among ourselves, let’s not take ourselves backwards. One Zambia One Nation.

Shallow studying of the signed agreement has led to this mess, read this quotation for yo thought and disggest it,
    Clause 8.—(AGREEMENTS RELATING TO BAROTSELAND.)
‘Both hon. Members have said that they feel that the Agreement which has been entered into reflects the settled will of the three parties to the Agreement. If one examines it, it seems to balance nicely the interests of those concerned on each side. I profoundly hope that the Agreement, which I am sure will be honoured by Dr. Kaunda, will put an end to differences which, unhappily, have arisen in the past over a considerable period of time, and that Barotseland and its inhabitants and the rest of Zambia—for Barotseland is an integral part of Zambia—will live happily together 780 in future and that this Agreement will promote concord over many years’.

    Lozis are confusing themslves, they seem not to know or understand what their doing if you consder the following;
1)western province is not brosteland supressing the BNC resolved that western province should break away from Zambia instead of barotseland. that is treason because western province has never signed any agreement with Zambia.
2)secondly the barotse agreemnet has not close of sescssion.
3)the BNC resolution did not consider other ethnic groups within the region such as Nkoya’s the owners of kaoma and lukulu, am very sure that less than 30 people attended the meetng from the two district apart from politicians

like in the Arab world it takes greedy and selfish guys to start civil strife based on petty issues. if you look at conflicts closed it has much to do with power and autonomy. is this what lozi people want to start in Zambia. if the law does not work on this treasonable actions then we can as well forget about maxwell mwale, dora siliya and many others lining up at task force. lets attend to criminal cases in order of priority. try lozi activists then we get back to blunders later

@kk there is nothing to be greedy about, ask those who promised to restore the BA64 they know why they said so cos the date and day they said that is known and what ever they said is recorded and written on paper, not only knowing but they explained to the people why it is important to restore the agreement, it is not a treasonable case as u are saying and there is nothing to do with the civil strife you are talking about, for your information this issue is not a petty one, it is something which should be handled with care and given an urgent attention. Let those who promised people come in open and tell the whole nation as to why they cannot honor their promise as they told the people that they will consider restoring the agreement once voted into office. We need each other to develop this country and enjoy the unity and peace we have always enjoyed.

But she 4 gets that the President had already commented on the matter even before Cabinet deliberated on it. He said he would be reluctant to restore the BA64. So do not blame the BNC.
