Monze Central of Parliament Jack Mwimbu has insisted that government should declare the hunger situation in the country a national disaster.
The law maker says government should not be ashamed to declare the hunger situation a national disaster because it was caused by forces of nature such as drought.
Mr. Mwimbu has revealed that some people in his constituency are going for more than three days without eating because the wild fruits they have been surviving on are running out.
He adds that the 12.5Kg by 200 bags of relief mealie meal government has been distributing is not enough for over 2000 people in his constituency.
