A 44 year-old woman and a maid of Lusaka’s Kamwala Township has retaken a plea of guilty for attempting to poison her employer.
In this matter, Naomi Muyemba is convicted of administering poison to slices of bread and eggs to her employer Petronella Mukumbakwa.
She is charged with malicious administering of poison with intent to harm.
It is alleged that on 6th July, 2019, Muyembe’s employer discovered some black substance on the slices of bread and eggs Muyembe prepared for her.
After taking the bread to the University Teaching Hospital, for testing it tested positive to Paparatric poison.
In mitigation Muyembes’s lawyer asked the court to exercise leniency because she is a first offender and a widow with two school going children who she solely provide for.
